while decorating my parents christmas tree cora wanted to know what the fabric draped over the chair was for. my mom said "that's the skirt for the bottom of the tree" and cora says "YES, the tree will always be a girl!". then the other day at our house, she wanted to put water in the thing and said " i have to water the tree so it can grow". yes, i will have a giant christmas tree in my family room in a few months. oh, have i also mentioned that she now believes she is a cat? it is off and on though because of flack from the older brothers. they remind her that she loves dogs and dogs hate cats. it drives them crazy when she goes off on a cat tangent.
some friends, the harris's just had a baby. a little girl. my friends lisa is having her sixth probably this week. several people we know are adopting. baby craze. i had a pang. it was a very short pang. i mean elias IS only 6 mths. old! it's just that he's such a happy baby. is it crazy to think about having more? some moments i totally would and others i want everyone 5 and up. i try really hard to trust God on this issue. my fear is that HE/SHE might think we COULD handle a bunch more!! sometimes i just want to enjoy the ones i already have. i don't want anyone to get cut short. on the other hand, i want tons! lots! i want to adopt AND give birth to a few more. i can't imagine saying that's it, no more. and i can't imagine having more! oh well, time will tell.
on another note, my two year old has basically potty-trained herself. that is the thing with having alot of kids, it gets easier because there are older ones to help. i think she basically observed what everyone else was doing and decided to do it herself! i laid underwear in her room one day and she put it on and never looked back!
well. times up. the baby needs to go to bed.....
